@ScotNational Trumps Scotland AGAIN (sigh)
The National: Here's what I would have asked Donald Trump during his Scotland trip:
"We applied for accreditation but access was given to just one Scottish print newspaper, which was picked out of a hat. We missed out.
If The National had been given access and an opportunity to question the US president, we would have gone much harder on Gaza.
We would also ask why his government is providing billions to Israel, a country that is actively committing genocide and starving a civilian population.
Perhaps we’d ask whether he fears he will end up in The Hague.
Certainly another probing question on his ties to disgraced paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein – that’s a story he hopes everyone forgets.
We'd also perhaps call out the apparent hypocrisy of his administration bringing up the idea of deporting US citizens for crimes when he, himself, is a convicted felon.
Or ask about calls for the Scottish Government to launch an investigation into his finances."

BBC: Trump wants Scotland to 'thrive' as Swinney to press for tariffs cuts:
"At a press conference with Starmer at Turnberry, Trump was pressed on whether there was a better deal on whisky exports to America.
He said: "I assume when we do our trade deal, overall, a lot of it comes to Scotland I hope."
Trump then turned to Starmer and added: "Maybe all of it should come to Scotland"....
Trump also told reporters that "this is a part of the world I want to see thrive, it is going to thrive".
The US president spoke about his Scottish mother who was born on Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.
He said: "I have great love for Scotland. My mother loved Scotland and she loved the Queen."
Trump said he did not want to get involved in British domestic politics when asked for his opinion on plans for a second referendum on Scottish independence..."
